Have you ever wanted to try tent camping and see what all the excitement was about, but you just didn't want to commit to a full weekend camping adventure? This overnight tent adventure is for you. You will learn the basics of setting up your tent, cooking camp food, starting a campfire, and more!

About The Event

Very important information:

  • This event is NON-REFUNDABLE. Do not sign up if you are not able to attend.
  • Campground is located at Greenbelt National Park.
  • The weather in March can be rainy. Plan for the possibility of rain or cold weather.
  • This Overnight Camping is Rain or Shine.

Our overnight camping will take place starting at 5:00pm Friday, March 22. Participants MUST arrive prior to 8pm to the campground. Setting up tents and equipment in the dark is a challenge. Assuming those attending this overnight are new campers, it would be in your best interest to arrive when it is light outside. We also will be doing a guided 5.5-mile hike Saturday morning before we leave the campsite.

Participants will need to bring:

* 2 person tent (max) if you are coming as an individual. If you are sharing a tent, you can have no bigger than a 4 person tent. We have two reserved campsites. Each campsite allows for 6 people, twelve people total.

* Sleeping Mat

* Sleeping Bag

* Tent Lamp

* Headlamp

* Dinner Friday, Breakfast Saturday

*Snacks for Saturday Hike

Tent heater (Optional)

*Hiking Boots/Shoes

*Change of Clothes

*Personal Medications/Personal Toiletries

*Rain jacket if weather is rainy

Items provided for the overnight:

Firewood for campsites

Campfire food (i.e hotdogs, smores, etc.)

Payment is per person. If you have any questions about what you should bring, feel free to email info@destinationhike.com. There is limited solo camper spaces, so if you are interested in coming solo, do not delay in registering.

  • Individual Registration

    This registration is if you are coming by yourself. You will occupy one of the three tent spaces available per lot.

  • Double/ Pair Registration (PP)

    This ticket is if you are sharing a tent (up to a size 4 person tent) with one other person (2 people in a tent). Each person has to pay for their own individual ticket. Space will not be reserved until both people have paid.

  • Triple Camper (Per Person)

    This ticket is for those who are coming as a group of three. Each participant will register for their own space, but will need to identify in the registration who else is occupying the tent. The three occupying tent cannot have larger than a 6 person tent.

  • 2 Person Tent Rental w/ Light

    This optional tent rental is a tent for 2 people max. All rental equipment must be returned in the same condition it was rented. Equipment rented that is damaged in anyway will incur total cost of a replacement tent.
