Rocks, Ropes, and Hills: Memorial Day Adventure Trail

Updated: Jun 3, 2020

Memorial Day 2020 will be a day that those who attended the Destination Hike #hikeislife trail will not soon forget. 35 hikers from beginners to advanced took to the Turkey Run and Potomac Heritage Trail in McLean, VA. Two sections of the trail had ropes that hikers had to use in order to get across to the other side of the trail. Hills separated one obstacle from the next. Once we hit the part of the trail that was complete rocks at 1.6 miles in, some people were stuck wondering two things; "How am I going to get across this!?" and "Wow it is BEAUTIFUL here." Nonetheless everyone tackled the challenge of the rocks while also getting plenty of photos. Walking alongside the Potomac was an added bonus for this short adventure hike.

If you are ever looking for a short trail that will challenge with hills and rocks while rewarding you with beautiful views, you will want to add this trail to your list. Kudos to all who completed the trail and will be back again another day.
