About The Event

WAIVER <------- MUST READ

Challenge hikes are the best! Come on this trail with us as we traverse across state lines to reach the peak of a mountain and witness nature's beauty!

A few thing you will need to keep in mind:

1. It is not advised that you register for this hike if you are not used to hiking up hills with high elevation or if you have not hiked up to at least 5 miles prior. This trail is truly humbling to even fast/moderate pace hikers. (Trail difficulty equivalent - Catoctin Mountain, with shorter length).

2. Please bring enough water to sustain you for at least 3 hours. Also, make sure you bring with you trail snacks, an energy drinks, and whatever personal items and/or medication you may need.

3. Do not try to park directly at the trailhead parking lot for Raven Rocks. That parking lot is incredibly small and fills up quickly . We will park at the lot across the street which is the trailhead for the Bear's Den Trail and walk across as a group.

4. Wear comfortable shoes. If you have hiking boots that would be preferred. However, if you have not committed to buying hiking shoes, wear comfortable tennis shoes.

5. Check the weather for the day and dress appropriately. When you are hiking in the fall, the weather can start fluctuate between cool and cold. Please dress appropriately knowing that the weather can change.

6. Bring a small to medium size back pack. This is to carry any personal items; cell phone, water, SNACKS, personal medication, and any other items you may need.

7. Remember, there are no bathrooms in nature, so stay hydrated but make sure you are good to hike without needing a bathroom. If you do need to use the bathroom, nature will be your stall.

8. Suggested: Download the AllTrails app. That will help you get familiar with the trail and you can see in real time where we are on the trail. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/virginia/raven-rocks-via-appalachian-trail
